Welcome! I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a book club (PoetryBC) monthly where the focus will be on poetry! Don’t go eye-rolling and assuming it will be boring, I assure you we’ll be reading and discussing some awesome books of poetry! I personally enjoy poems that were not written 100 years or more ago, so my book selections will reflect that and will be fresh! I am open to any and all suggestions you have for book selections and particular topics of discussion! Feel free to leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!
How does it work?
On the 1st day of each month I will post a book of poetry that either I have personally selected or that one of the PoetryBC members has suggested. You will have until the 24th of each month to read the book and share your thoughts in the comments of the page for the book of the month.
There will be questions/discussion topics listed with each selection that will hopefully get you really thinking about the book in its entirety that we will discuss as a group on the 25th of each month.
Do I have to sign up to be a member?
You do not have to sign up to be a member. However, I do think it will be beneficial for you to join the PoetryBC mailing list to receive updates about the club.
Where can I find the books?
I’ll do my best to select books that have digital download availability to make it easy on you. On each month’s book selection page, I will post the link to download/purchase the item. If a book that has been suggested is not listed for digital download then I will direct you to the bookstores or online store links that sell them.
I also encourage you to be friendly with one another and lend books when possible so that everyone can have a chance to participate!
I’m an author, can I suggest my own book?
You most certainly can. In fact, I welcome that idea. I’d love for the group to read and discuss each others completed works in a show of support. Make sure when you leave your suggestion in the comments that you specify the work is your own.
